Have you ever wondered about those bright but unconventional planters lining Talbot Trail on the bridge east of Bowman’s and the Village Resource Centre?
These are the Horticultural Society’s “Fish Tub” planters and they play a key role in the beautification of Wheatley. The proceeds from the Fish Tub Program cover the gap between what the Wheatley Horticultural Society receives from Chatham-Kent for beautification, and what our actual costs are. Each tub features the name and/or logo of the business or individual that is sponsoring it. Several tubs are also used to memorialize members of the community.
What a great way to promote your business and make our town even more beautiful at the same time! Because of the community’s consistent support for our Fish Tub Program, the Horticultural Society is adding an additional 10 hanging baskets and 4 planters to our community this year.
New tubs will be available for $150 and a receipt will be provided upon request. The sponsorship/advertising includes a membership to the Horticultural Society. The name/artwork can be up to 12 inches by 24 inches in size. If you are renewing your fish tub, the cost is $125.00.
